The site mac.liquidMaps.org has been created and edited by liquidDocs in 2014 to disseminate and promote the activities of the Museu d’Arqueologia de Catalunya, placing them in the world map.

 

 

The Museum of Archaeology of Catalonia (MAC), which includes the museum tradition in archeology since the early twentieth century, is the result of the Museums Law passed in 1990.  As National Museum, its goal is to preserve, research and disseminate the archaeological remains that illustrate the historical development from prehistoric to medieval times.

 

The MAC is a museum network formed by various headquarters and archeological sites. Currently what are the archaeological museums of Barcelona and Girona, the Greco-Roman city of Empuries, historic place of Olèrdola, the Iberian settlement of Ullastret, the Centre for Underwater Archaeology of Catalonia (CASC) and the Iberian villages of Moll d’Espígol (Tornabous), Castell (Palamos), Coll del Moro (Gandesa) i Castellet de Banyoles (Tivissa), the prehistoric site of Roca dels Moros (the Cogul) and the Roman city of Iesso (Guissona).
